Founded in Melbourne in 2018, edeagdidia emerged from a recognition that scientific knowledge, while abundant, often remains inaccessible to those outside academic institutions. We set out to change that dynamic.
Our founders, drawn from backgrounds in physics, biology, environmental science, and science communication, shared a conviction that understanding the scientific process enriches decision-making at every level of society.
Scientific papers number in the millions. Research budgets reach billions of dollars annually. Yet public understanding of how science actually operates—the iterative nature of hypothesis testing, the role of peer review, the distinction between correlation and causation—remains limited. This gap creates vulnerability to misinformation and undermines informed participation in public discourse.
We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to engage meaningfully with scientific ideas. Not everyone will become a professional researcher, nor should they. But everyone can develop the capacity to evaluate evidence, understand uncertainty, and appreciate how knowledge accumulates over time.
